Joomla 1.5.x Software download, unpack and upload

Detailed documentation is critical in diagnosis when something goes wrong during any Joomla installation. This is specially true during the software download, unpack and upload stage because the nomenclature could be very critical to ascertain specific versions. Joomla 1.5.x Download, Unpack and Upload

The dates are as critical in the record keeping, even if the same software version was downloaded and used. The dates may allow detection of random fidelity errors that could arise during any stage of the download, unpack and upload.

If there were any further upgrades, or patch fixes, this must be included in this record sectionn also.

Outlined below is an example of a Joomla1.5.x-Teline II v1.5 Quickstart kit.

Software Download, unpack and upload

  1. Download Joomla 1.5x-JA Teline II v1.5 :
    * I download the zip version: JA Teline II v1.5 for Joomla1.5.x.zip
  2. Unpack JA Teline II v1.5 for Joomla1.5.x.zip
    * Actual folder name after unpacking: JA Teline II v1.mla1.5.x Folder
    * Note, the JA Teline II v1.mla1.5.x Folder contains several folders
    * I suggest you use the QuickStart version located in the Quickstart folder => ja_teline_ii_qu_v1.5_j1.5.x.zip
  3. Unpack ja_teline_ii_qu_v1.5_j1.5.x.zip
    * Actual folder name after unpacking: ja_teline_ii_qu_v1.5_j1.5.x
    * There must be 26 files and directories
  4. Upload ja_teline_ii_qu_v1.5_j1.5.x using FTP
    * There must be 26 files and directories after the upload
  5. Rename ja_teline_ii_qu_v1.5_j1.5.x with what you want, e.g., the jte15x010
    * For my initial trials, I do not place the contents of the uploaded kit into the root. If it works, I use this as sandbox later on, to experiment. I do another installation once I am already quite more experienced with the template.

* In my own notes, I abbreviated the entire process above as follows:
* Joomlart Teline II (JA Teline II v1.5 for Joomla1.5.x.zip) downloaded 20080805, unpacked (JA Teline II v1.mla1.5.x Folder) 20080805, find Quickstart folder and unpack ja_teline_ii_qu_v1.5_j1.5.x.zip (=> ja_teline_ii_qu_v1.5_j1.5.x), modify ja_teline_ii_qu_v1.5_j1.5.x => (see details), uploaded 20080805, rename (jte15x010) 200800805, and installed 20080805 ,
* This summary information is critical in case you have to find out the history of what you uploaded, in case there are bugs. Also, if I upgrade, I include the upgrade date and other information.
